West Newport is a historic, diverse, and close-knit neighborhood in Newport, KY—walkable, proud, and full of character. Its location near the KY 9 corridor, the Licking River, downtown Covington, and Monmouth Street’s Central Business District makes it an ideal place to live, work, and invest.

The neighborhood faces challenges like traffic, limited green space, and rising development pressures—but its residents are ready to shape the future. We worked closely with the community through workshops, small committees, and engagement sessions to explore creative, inclusive ways to enhance quality of life.

From better public spaces and transportation options to historic preservation and affordable housing protections, our goal was to help West Newport dream big while honoring its unique character. The result: thoughtful design guidelines that support a vibrant, resilient, and equitable neighborhood—one that keeps its voice at the heart of every decision.
